Westlake Gynecology & Women's
Healthcare is a unique medical practice
devoted to preventative care, cancer
screening and operative intervention. In
1990, Drs. Ambe-Crain and Taylor relocated
their Los Angeles based practice to Westlake
Village in the Conejo Valley. After several
years of practicing obstetrics, they decided
to seek a healthier balance between their
personal and professional lives and limited
their focus to gynecology. Detection of
breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian cancer,
as well as heart disease and diabetes, are
included in routine office visits.
Psychological aspects of a variety of
conditions are integrated into their
evaluations. Maintainance of updated
expertise in hormonal regulation from
adolesence to menopause is a hallmark of the
practice.
Contraceptive counseling, HPV/STD testing,
HPV vaccinations and treatment are offered
along with contraceptive counseling and
evaluation of menstrual concerns. Evaluation
for mammography, CT and MRI scans, and
ultrasound imaging are addressed. Despite
their reliance on modern technology and
pertinent laboratory reports, a strong focus
on the complex mind-body connection enables
them to support the physical and mental
well-being of their patients.
Cornerstones of their practice philosophy
are patient education and open communication
in a nurturing environment. They believe
that tailoring medicine to fit the unique
needs of each individual is key to a
patient's success. Their mission is to forge
long-standing partnerships with their
patients in order to promote maintenance of
good health.
